Khopasi is an ancient town of Kavrepalanchowk, located in the eastern corner of the Kathmandu valley, about 30 km from the capital. The village has a population of 3,000 people and is made up of Brahmin, Newar, Chettri and Tamang ethnic groups living in harmony. It is an agricultural town that mainly grows rice.

The challenges you'll face in this unique experience

You will have the opportunity to collaborate at Shree Ram High School, which is a publicly owned school with minimal facilities, teaching different subjects, such as English, art, music, sports and other transversal skills necessary for local children.

What is the project about?

Get involved in preparing activities that promote hygiene and cleanliness throughout the educational community. In addition to classroom activities, you can also do activities to improve school facilities, such as painting walls, building fences and playground, building drinking facilities, gardening, etc.

What does the program offer?

  • Educational volunteer activities in public schools teaching English and doing educational and leisure activities with children.
  • Knowledge of the culture, religion, the imposing nature of Nepal and its people, through the volunteer program.
  • Stay in host families that maximize the cultural experience.
  • Development of skills such as communication and interculturality or teamwork through constant practice of English and active participation in activities.
