International Solidarity Summer TANZANIA

Tanzania, home to Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, is known for its great cultural diversity due to the union and coexistence of various ethnic, linguistic, and religious groups. This country’s culture is strongly influenced by the ancestral traditions and customs of the tribes that once existed in the area, and that is why the identity of Tanzania’s citizens is very rich.

The challenges you'll face in this unique experience

You will get to know the educational reality of the country by volunteering at the local school, where you will help by leading classes and after-school activities. The school has identified the need for computers and aims to build a computer classroom, as well as musical instruments to include music in its educational program. Depending on the profiles and capacity of the volunteers we can contribute to these needs.

What is this project?

Target skills

Thanks to the program, the participants will be able to experience real immersion in the country’s culture through different aspects. On one hand, you will get acquainted with the educational reality of the country by doing volunteering activities at the local school, where you will help by leading classes and after-school activities. The school also needs constant maintenance for their installations, as well building new environments where you can improve your capacity and quality of service to the children in this community. Depending on the profiles and capacity of the volunteer group we can contribute to these needs.

On the other hand, you will visit a Masai tribe, well known for being great warriors and for their effective grazing methods. Although the authorities continue to encourage the Masai to abandon their traditional lifestyle, these people have proudly clung to their ancient customs and way of life.
