AIPC PANDORA PHILOSOPHY
At AIPC Pandora we train and empower young people to lead a fair and sustainable world, organizing programs in more than 60 countries.
Programs
Our areas of action translate into programs such as the following:
- International and Intercultural Education Programs: we have a wide variety of programs, both Outbound (outside Spain) and Inbound (in Spain) that allow us to experience different realities, cultures and educational environments.
- Training in Global Citizenship: we extend and include education for global citizenship competences in all our programs, exposing young people to their problems and solutions in an experiential way.
- Volunteering Promotion: We promote volunteering and include it throughout our programs, exposing young people to social service and contribution.
methodology
- Work on the "Global Service Learning '' or "Learning-Service '' Methodology combining learning and skills development with the improvement of local communications around the world.
- Direct and face-to-face mentoring throughout the project cycle:
The first group of 23 young Americans traveled to France in the summer of 1932. “People learn to live together by living together” – today “Building Peace through Understanding”.
The name: Association for the Integration and Progress of Cultures, Pandora
- Culture is understood as the way in which we each interpret the world and our immediate realities which as a result, defines our way of thinking, feeling and acting.
- Integration: It is understood as a process for understanding and adapting to new realities, ways of being and thinking, without losing our own identity and culture. This derives in effective communication and participation.
- We understand progress as the progress of each person and their relationship with others constantly making an effort to improve one's life and that of the people around us. "No man can find his own soul until he sets a balance between himself and society" A.Einstein.

Pandora's Myth
Prometheus stole the fire from Zeus, god of the gods in Greek mythology. In order to take revenge Zeus created Pandora, asking the other gods to provide him with all the gifts, beauty and intelligence. Zeus sends Pandora to Epimetheus, Prometheus’ brother, so they can fall in love and get married. As a wedding present she gives Pandora a box containing all the evils and asks her never to open it. Pandora did not resist temptation and opened the box and all evils came out to earth. Pandora closed the box in time for hope to remain within.
Why Is AIPC Pandora Called AIPC Pandora?
- Greece is the foundation of Western culture.
- Pandora is the first woman in Greek mythology, equivalent to Eve in Jewish-Christian mythology.
- European thought and its values, democracy and Western philosophy come from the greek philosophers and thinkers.
Pure Western values and the need to keep them in mind + hope that remains in the box – the inspiration and foundation of AIPC Pandora.
These values today translate into:
- All the skills enacted by Europe in its programmes for young people based on critical, rational and scientific thinking developed through experience produce real learning.
- Democracy and citizenship.
